Caring for caregivers
Caregiving can be a challenge. The good news is that support is available, at no cost to you.
If you provide care for a spouse, family member, friend, or loved one, you are considered a caregiver. Whether you help with doctor visits, medications, groceries, expenses, or planning for the future, caregiving asks can be confusing and overwhelming.
Fortunately, as an IBX Medicare Advantage plan member, you have access to caregiver support services from Carallel. The support is available if you are a caregiver for a loved one or for those helping care for you. Below are more details about this helpful benefit.
Daily reassurance
It can be difficult to handle caregiving responsibilities. It can feel that you’re not doing the “right things.” Carallel’s Care Advocates and digital tools make it easier.

Caregiving Burnout: 3 signs you may need a break
Being a caregiver can be rewarding — and exhausting. Burnout happens when ongoing stress and fatigue start to take a toll on your health and well-being. Here are three signs it may be time to ask for extra support:
You’re tired but can’t sleep
Trouble falling or staying asleep is a common sign of burnout. If this is happening, it may help to adjust your schedule, share caregiving duties, or take short breaks so your body can truly rest.
Things feel hopeless or overwhelming
Feeling discouraged from time to time is normal, but ongoing feelings of hopelessness may signal emotional burnout. Talking with a trusted friend, health professional, or caregiver support program can help lighten the emotional load.
You’ve stopped seeing friends or enjoying hobbies
When caregiving takes over, it’s easy to put your own life on hold. Making time — even briefly — for social connections or favorite activities can help restore your energy and improve your mood.
