Your simple guide to getting better care
As a valued member, these tips will help you find the support and information you need.
Getting care should be easy. We’re here to help you stay healthy. Missed checkups or skipped refills can turn into bigger problems. The good news? Small steps can help a lot. Here's a simple guide to get the care you need.
Use your member site
Through your member site at ibx.com/login, you can:
- Check your ID card
- Find doctors
- Learn about your benefits, and more
Find the right providers
Looking for a doctor, a dentist, an eye doctor, or even a pharmacist? IBX makes it easy to search for trusted in-network providers by name, location, specialty, or procedure using the online Find a Provider tool a ibxmedicare.com/providerfinder.
Start with a care plan
A care plan ensures you and your doctor stay on track. It can help you keep on top of:
- Tests and screenings you need
- Follow‑up visits to schedule
- Medications you are taking
Get care where you need it
You have choices for where to get the care you need, like:
- In-person visits at providers’ offices or an at-home personal health visit1
- Telehealth (care by phone or video)
- Telemedicine through Teladoc Health2
The type of care you are looking for can help you decide which is best for your needs.
Keep everyone in the loop
Keeping all your providers updated on your care is key to getting the best care. Tell each provider you see about:
- Other doctors you see
- Symptoms you experience
- Medications you take
Keeping everyone informed helps you get the best care and avoid problems.
Ask about patient portals
Many doctors have online patient portals that they use to communicate important information. In these portals, you can:
- See test results
- Send messages and ask questions
- View your health records and visit notes
Ask your provider if there are any patient portals you need to sign up for while seeing them.
Connect with your pharmacist
If your plan has prescription drug coverage and you take medications, your pharmacist is a trusted resource and medication expert. Asking the following questions can help you feel confident and avoid surprises:
- Should I take this with food or on an empty stomach?
- What side effects should I watch for?
- Will this interact with my other medications or supplements?
Stay supported between visits
If you need support in between visits, our Registered Nurse Health Coaches are available to answer questions, help manage chronic conditions, and support your wellness goals, available at no cost.3 You can reach them at 1-855-332-3102 (TTY/TDD: 711) 24/7.
